Lambda Tax exists to provide trustworthy, high-quality tax and financial services that deliver real value. We strive to service the wide swath of individuals, families, and business who come across the need for professional assistance. What sets us apart is our commitment to social values. As a practice, we commit ourselves to the community and make sure that we are not only serving our clients in a professional manner, but also making tax services accessible to as many people as we can. We are not scared of tackling new challenges and looking to our professional peers for additional support. Further, we combine our expertise in tax and accounting with in-house proprietary technology which helps us serve clients more accurately and more efficiently. We do not use AI in our practice and have no plans to integrate AI. Your information is secured through the use of our online portal, with no disclosure to third-parties. Your tax information will not be outsourced for preparation. We will seek your express consent before sharing your personal information with parties other than vendors who maintain your data for our sole use. Our Approach
We believe in transparency and thoroughness in every engagement. For individual tax compliance clients, everything begins with the organizer. The organizer provides us with knowledge of everyone on your return, the complexity of your information, and what we need to know about your financial information to provide a sliding-scale quote. For all other clients, everything starts with an email or a phone call. We will ask you for general information about you or your business. Once we have an idea of the scope of work (compliance, accounting, etc.) and the complexity, we will provide a quote. Throughout the remainder of the process, we will continue to ask you questions as we need, prepare your documents in the background, and provide you with your tax return or other results at the end.

Sliding Scale Services
Lambda Tax is proud to continue a socially-conscious mission by ensuring access for all to tax services. While our bandwidth is limited to the number of hours we can work, we truly enjoy helping all access the professional help they need to make sense of the financial world we live in. We consider clients on their current income, asset level, and extenuating circumstances, to provide pricing that works for both sides.
Flat-Fee Pricing
We pride ourselves on providing flat-fee pricing as our default for most services. We want clients to feel assured the amount we ask for is the amount they are paying. This also means no more billing with inflated hours, tacked on technology fees, and more.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
In partnership with the Community Tax Alliance, we provide volunteer hours on a regular basis, during and after tax season, to low-income clients. We have helped return hundreds of thousands of dollars to the pockets of Chicagoans.
Claire’s Place Foundation
Lambda Tax is helping to provide discounted accounting and tax services to Claire’s Place Foundation, a 501(c)(3) focused on providing financial resources and accessibility to individuals with Cystic Fibrosis and their families. Claire’s Place supports individuals and families via programs such as: support for extended hospitalizations, job training, development of hospital playrooms for children, and more.
Care Cubby Company
Lambda Tax has helped to bring Care Cubby Company, an already strong social mission focusing on providing individuals with free access to resources such as food, books, clothing, art supplies, and more, through cubbies located throughout the city, into 501(c)(3) status and establish mainstream financing activities.
Open-Mindeness
As a queer and trans owned practice, Lambda Tax is used to difference. We ensure that our clients feel welcomed regardless of background. From collecting preferred names and pronouns for correspondence to working with underserved populations such as sex workers, we want to see taxes be accessible to all who need it.
